It has been a difficult week of waiting for us. Anne’s PET/CT scans that were scheduled for Wednesday were cancelled due to miscommunication between the insurance and oncology office. We have been pretty frustrated by this and the resulting delay in Anne’s treatment. Anne has scans rescheduled for this coming Monday and we are hopeful that everything goes smoothly.
Anne did get a new dragon onesie that she has enjoyed wearing around the house. It is soft and a lot of fun. That has been a highlight in the week. Anne’s neck has been swelling and hurting this week, which has woken her up in pain most nights. This has been difficult for all of us because it makes us feel helpless as we wait.
We have had several friends reach out to people who know things in the world of cancer treatment on our behalf, and we appreciate your knowledge and insight. We feel like we have a good plan as we move into next week.
Thank you to all of you who have reached out to text and with messages of support. The fear can start to close in around us – especially when we are just waiting – and the encouragement from your friendships has helped us to not give in to that fear.
I hope you all are doing as well as possible. We will keep praying for you. If she can drink healthy smoothies, this will be good for her to get the healing nutrients she needs. Medicinal tea is also good to put in warm bath water to soak in. Especially if chemo is needed. It may seem weird but the body will benefit from it like an epsom salts bath. If you need anything please reach out. Luv u guys
Thank you, Kerri. We are working on some smoothie recipes and hoping to find some things Anne can tolerate. I like the bath idea. I hadn’t thought of that.
I’m so sorry that Anne’s tests and treatment were delayed. We’ve been waiting to hear all week as have so many of our friends who are praying earnestly for Anne. I’m sure this has been a really tough week for you all. And I’m so sorry Anne’s had pain in her neck that’s woken her up at night. That had to be scary and discouraging. Praise God for your friends that have been able to give you information and encourage you! We are continuing to pray and are eagerly waiting along with you to hear her test results and have the treatment begin. A thought that encourages me during times of waiting is the fact that Jesus is always interceding for us before the Father. I love to picture this in my mind. ” For he is able to save completely those who come to God through him because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25 He lives to talk with the Father about Anne, even as we wait. We love you guys!
The dragon onesie is awesome! Praying your scans happen today, Anne!
